Guide for Authors

The Egyptian Journal of Food Safety is the official publication of the Egyptian Association of Veterinary Food Hygiene and Consumers Protection (EAVFHCP), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Cairo University. The journal is intended for publication of research, review articles (in both Arabic and English languages) as well as summaries of thesis.

The following instructions should be carefully adhered to by all  potential authors:

1. Manuscripts submitted for publication in the journal , should  contribute to the literature of the profession by providing new information, insights or ideas. The content must be new, true, important, and comprehensive.

2. Manuscripts should be word processed or typed with double spacing in English on one side of good quality paper size A4 (21x29.7Cm) Margins of 2.54 cm (top and bottom), 3.17 cm (for left and right). An original and three copies in addition to 2 diskettes should be submitted (word documents under Windows 7 or 10).

All articles will be evaluated by two independent referees/reviewers.

4. One Thousand Egyptian pounds will be charged as a minimum charge for each article, not more than ten pages (contains maximum three tables and three figures). One Hundred Egyptian pounds will be charged for each page, table, and figure in excess.

5. Manuscripts should be prepared as follows:

a- A title page. This includes title of the article, name (s) of author (s), degree (s), and the exact working address (s). An asterisk should be placed upon the name of the author to whom all correspondence should be addressed. This page should not be numbered.

b- Abstract: should be presented in no more than 200 words outlining the Significance and originality of the work. The pages must be numbered Consecutively beginning with the abstract.

c- The text: This section may be arbitrarily classified into several subsections including:  introduction, review, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion, and references, etc.

d- References: Must be double spaced starting  on a separate page and arranged alphabetically  by authors' last name and numbered in the text. Cite all references in the text by italicized numbers in parentheses: (3, 12, 27).

e - An Arabic summary is required.

F- Drawings and illustrations: clear black and white photographic prints should be submitted. Color prints may be submitted when color will increase the clarity of the photograph. Publication of color photographs will be at the discretion of the editor. Each illustration should be labeled on the back with the illustration number, the name of the author, the designation of the top of the illustration and a signed photograph release forms for subjects photographs.

● Proofs should be carefully corrected and promptly returned within one week of receipt to the editorial secretary.
